Envoy to Damascus bids farewell to Syrian PM

TEHRAN, Oct. 14 (MNA) – Iran’s ambassador to Damascus, Mohammad Reza Raouf Sheybani, at the end of his 5 year term in Syria, met with the Syrian PM Imad Mohammad Deeb Khamis on Thursday.

Mohammad Reza Raouf Sheybani, the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Syria, bid farewell to Syrian Prime Minister, Imad Mohammad Deeb Khamis, at the end of his 5 year term mission in Syria on Thursday.

The meeting was also attended by Syrian Economy and Foreign Trade Minister, Adib Mayyaleh, Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister, Ali Ghanem, and the General Secretary of the Premier’s office.

Syrian Prime Minister, Imad Mohammad Deeb Khamis, voiced gratitude for all Sheybani’s efforts to enhance bilateral ties in all areas.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran has always stood behind the independent nations and at the front of war against terrorism and Takfirism,” reiterated the Syrian Prime Minister after referring to the acts of terrorist and extremist groups in the region.

The Iranian ambassador also for his part hailed the strategic cooperation between the two countries and reassured that the Islamic Republic of Iran will continue its support for the legitimate Syrian government.

At the end of the meeting, to offer gratitude for Sheybani’s five year service in Damascus, Khamis awarded him an Arabian sword.
